Affordably Couture Timepieces: The Karl Lagerfeld for Fossil Collection Allows You to Buy Time

About to drop in stores worldwide on February 28th, the Karl Lagerfeld for Fossil collaboration offers fashion enthusiasts exclusive timepieces at affordable price points with trademark features from the Lagerfeld label, such as: metallic leathers, prism studs, chain details, and cameo etchings of Lagerfeld himself.

No stranger to the democratization of couture, this isn’t the first time that the celebrated Creative Director of Chanel has collaborated with a mass-market retail chain, as Lagerfeld has also teamed up with such industry giants as H&M and Coca-Cola in the past.

The Karl Lagerfeld for Fossil collection will have select pieces starting at less than $200 for both women and men and will be available for purchase in Canada from the Bay.

Possibly most famous for his romantic relationship with the legendary Madonna, dancer Brahim Zaibat shows off his moves, physique, and some rad, designer threads from Versace, Jeremy Scott, and Emporio Armani in the most recent edition of VMAN magazine.

The 25-year-old, French break-dancer was lensed for issue 29 of the magazine by photographer Sebastian Faena in this striking ‘B BOY’ editorial that shows how to sport flamboyant pieces in a way that makes a bold statement while still being masculine.

What's Hot in Wedding Fashion: Spring/Summer 2013 Edition

Opulence reigned the Spring/Summer 2013 bridal runway stage and set the tone for the upcoming wedding season. Exuding glamour with a touch of sophistication, Canadian labels Pavoni and Paraezo Couture stunned at World Mastercard Fashion Week

THE BRUNETTES had the privilege of attending both of the runway presentations which featured embellished and corseted bodices that were paired with flowing and volume-filled skirts. Reviving a traditional princess aesthetic, Paraezo Couture showcased feminine ornamentation and intricate ruffling details while Pavoni embraced the color-infused wedding dress trend and experimented with subtly metallic tones.

Celebs like Jessica Biel, seen here in a candy pink Giambattista Valli gown paved way for the brightly colored wedding gown trend that is sweeping New York's fashion scene. Known for her delicately draped and demure gowns, Vera Wang took a risk this season with her crimson-hued Spring 2013 collection that was designed for the spirited bride who is willing to make a memorable style statement on her big day.

In addition to numerous princess dresses and color-infused gowns, we saw a return of the retro aesthetic with Monique Lhuillier and Oscar de la Renta's Spring 2013 designs that both featured an abundance of rich lace appliques and past-era silhouettes.

These fashions were reminiscent of those worn by one's mother and grandmother and displayed delicate hand embroidery and long veil accessories. In addition to these New York collections, we saw more retro lace applications at Chanel's haute couture show this past season and learned that traditional elegance never goes out of style.

Post-Valentine’s Day Collaborations: The Entire JW Anderson for Topshop Collection Revealed

Let’s face it, the best Valentine’s Day gift is the one to which you treat yourself. Perhaps that was the logic behind the release date for the second JW Anderson for Topshop collection, which hits stores February 15th, or more appropriately, to coincide with the start of London Fashion Week.

The collection is bound to make fashionistas everywhere go a little crazy when trying to snag their favorite piece, as JW Anderson’s last collaboration with the fast-fashion retailer was a major hit and sold out completely.

JW Anderson’s signature trademarks of cameo prints and playful, contemporary takes on classic patterns offer shoppers a piece of the designer at a democratic price point. See all 35 pieces from the entire youthful (yet sophisticated) range in the slideshow below.

Fashion Flashback: THE BRUNETTES Attend Dr. Martens ‘First and Forever’ Campaign Release Party

With the release of supermodel Agyness Deyn’s second collection for Dr. Martens coming to stores on February 22, we thought we’d take a look back at the Toronto launch of the Spring/Summer 2012 ‘First and Forever’ campaign that started it all.

THE BRUNETTES were in attendance last year at the ‘First and Forever’ party held at the Queen Street West location of Dr. Martens after hours as Contributing Editors for Trend Hunter magazine. The party was thrown by fashion PR company Lotus Leaf Communications Inc. and gave guests the opportunity to preview the campaign before anyone else, while being wined and dined with champagne and gourmet foods and dancing to rad, DJ-turned-out beats.

MTV Canada personalities, such as Nicole Holness, Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, and Ian Lynch to name a few, were among some of the guests of honor. After being able to take part in such an exciting launch last year, we are really pumped up for the Agyness Deyn for Dr. Martens Spring/Summer collection to hit the shelves later this month. Check out a sneak peek of the line in the fashion film below.
