‘Scream and Shout’ Video Release: It's Britney B!tch

Although ‘Scream and Shout’, a mash-up of talents from pop icon Britney Spears and will.i.am, wasn’t certain to be a hit from its radio version, its new video release has completely changed our tune. That’s because the video is essentially one long fashion film for some of THE BRUNETTES’ all-time favorite labels, including pieces from Givenchy and the crème de la crème of luxury, The Blonds.

Britney looks fab in her black and gold, bejeweled bodice from the designer duo’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection, while dancers in the video sport tanks made of heavy, gold chain and metal from the brand that have been previously worn by top male model River Viiperi in The Blonds runway presentation.  The video also seems to feature references to fun flicks like ‘Back to the Future’ and ‘Mission Impossible’, which only heightens its coolness factor in our opinion.

Rachel Sin Spring/Summer 2013

The Rachel Sin Spring/Summer 2013 collection recently showed at World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week and THE BRUNETTES were there to take in the runway of effortlessly elegant and wearable pieces presented by the designer, which even drew in a crowd of onlookers from outside the fashion week tents.

Soft hues and fabrics were shown in contrast with sharp tailoring, avant-garde cuts, zipper details, and dynamic, directional lines. All of the latter elements may have been incorporated into the designer’s aesthetic based on techniques she acquired in her previous occupation … as a skilled architect.

Hugo Boss Grand Opening Event @ Yorkdale Shopping Centre

THE BRUNETTES' half Jana Pijak attended the Hugo Boss Grand Opening Event that took place at Yorkdale Shopping Centre last night. After some serious browsing with her date Bojan, Jana chatted with Men's Fashion editor-in-chief David Livingstone and later posed with stylist Peter Papapetrou before trying on some of the label's chic eyewear pieces.
After some music and cocktails, it was time for a Trends Presentation by Fashion Magazine's editor-in-chief Bernadette Morra and Mens Fashion editor-in-chief David Livingston.
The dynamic and stylish duo discussed the season's upcoming workwear trends for both men and women and dissected outfits made up of Hugo Boss pieces. From menswear-inspired silhouettes, tailored accents and digitized prints for women to modern military jackets and organic wool materials for men, models looked chic in the legendary label's multi-functional garments.

Showcasing an abundance of suiting, jackets and even some bold statement colors and floral infused prints, the season's trend roundup epitomized classic elegance.

Versus Round 4: Movember 2012 Edition

With Movember coming to a close, THE BRUNETTES decided to battle it off with a non-committal, facial fashion accessory—a digital ‘stache—in this pilatory edition of Versus.

Givenchy for H&M Rumors Hit the Web

After browsing the internet the other evening for Givenchy wares that I could never possibly afford, I was thinking to myself how great it would be if the luxury label teamed up and collaborated with fast-fashion retailer H&M. In my opinion, Givenchy has been the mastermind behind some of the most beautiful pieces created on the market within the last few years and I could just picture the brand’s goods flying off of H&M shelves with nary a buyer’s remorse.

Well imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and read rumors online that Givenchy may, in fact, be the next designer label to partner with H&M. THE BRUNETTES just hope this is true, unlike the short-lived, Tom Ford collaboration rumor that circulated after H&M’s Versace collection sold out in stores, which ended up being completely erroneous.

Triarchy Spring/Summer 2013

We’ve all witnessed from a plethora of Calvin Klein billboards over the years how important a toned, nubile, and half-naked body is when it comes to the marketing of a fresh pair of jeans. Perhaps, this is what Triarchy had in mind with its World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week runway presentation of its upcoming Spring/Summer designer denim line.

(The above image is from KENTON magazine.)

THE BRUNETTES had front-row seats to what was undoubtedly the hottest show of the season and watched as semi-dressed models showed off their goods—and the label's wares—to an adoring audience.

The Vancouver-based line was inspired by a one-night stand in St. Tropez and seemingly by shipwrecked castaways, given the rope props that many of the models either carried or wore as impromptu tops, and featured denim in many different washes and colors.

The diverse range of denims featured studded embellishments, tie-dyed effects, metallic foils, and—our personal favorites—jeans created with a dip-dyed process for a hip and alluring ombré look.
